Founder and Specialist Facilitator at Dyslexia Unpuzzled, Hawke's Bay

For more than thirty years I watched kids who had so much going for them work incredibly hard, or give up entirely, or find every way possible to avoid literacy tasks. Either way, they still fell behind.

I cared deeply about every one of them. The problem was that caring was never enough because I did not actually know what to do for them.

In 2021 I picked up Ron Davis's book. I remember letting out an audible gasp as I realised I had been missing twenty percent of the kids in every single class I had ever taught. I was stunned. I knew right there and then I had to do something about it. I could not let this keep happening.

That moment sent me onto the trajectory I am still on today.

So I retrained online in the Davis℠ Method, completed eighteen months of training and became a licensed Davis℠ Facilitator in 2022. Dyslexia Unpuzzled was born from that moment.

I work one to one in person with people of all ages in Hawke's Bay and I run workshops online. The Davis℠ Method works with the way a picture thinker's brain actually works rather than against it, and the results I see are not slow painful progress. They are real and lasting change.

I am pretty dyspraxic myself and there are definitely dyslexic traits in there too. I discovered all of this through my own Davis℠ training and I would be completely lost without using my Davis℠ tools every single day. So when I sit across from a client I am not just a specialist. I am someone who genuinely gets it from the inside.
